History and Mission
Congregation Rodef Sholom, founded in 1956, is a Reform Jewish Congregation located on the Lonee C. Hoytt Jewish Campus in San Rafael, California, and is affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism. Our campus partners include the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center and Brandeis Hillel Day School.  Click here for a list of our Past Presidents.

Rodef Sholom, which literally means "pursuers of peace", calls on us to actively pursue peace and wholeness.

We are welcoming and inclusive, and support the development of friendships and bonds without regard to our members' national origin, race, color, gender, marital status, sexual orientation or physical/mental abilities; and we accept and encourage a wide range of ideas and expressions of Judaism.

We are committed to healing the world (tikkun olam), social justice (mitzvot), involvement and advocacy, and recognizing and responding to unmet social needs within and beyond the Jewish community, both locally and globally.

The summer has come to a close.  5771 is nearly upon us. Join us for a night of introspective questioning and a collective look towards the new year. Together we will change the mantels on the Torah to white, we'll sing and we'll reflect back and look ahead to a good year.

Mitzvah Day is coming!

Sunday, October 24: Save the date and look for more information coming soon.
