Fund descriptions
Aaron and Sylvia Hessed Fund
Hessed means kindness in Hebrew. This fund serves as a resource and as an aid to those in need. It also gives opportunities for study and enrichment to those who would not otherwise be able to afford them.
Al Klugman Hospitality Fund
Helps attract new members through special events.
Bob & Dorothy Slate Jews By Choice Welcome Fund
These funds help to welcome Jews by Choice into our congregation.
Elizabeth & Joseph Dienstag Ark and Pulpit Fund
Contributions are used to repair Torahs and replace and beautify the Ark and Pulpit adornments.
Fred & Hilla Kirschner Music Endowment Fund
This fund provides for musical concerts emphasizing the liturgical music of the western European Jewish communities from the Emancipation to the Holocaust including compositions by Cantor Emmanuel Kirschner.
General Endowment Fund
The purpose of the fund is to insure the future of the congregation. A portion of the interest accrued each year will help the operating expenses of the congregation.

A supplementary source of income that contributes to the operation of the synagogue.
Gift of Israel Endowment Fund
Provides funds in partnership with the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation and synagogue families to send confirmands to Israel.
Harry and Rose Harris Music Fund
Helps provide music at services and ceremonies.
Jack Levy Israel Scholarship Fund
Helps those in the confirmation class requring financial aid for the yearly trip to Israel.
Joan and Fred Falender Endowment Fund for the Homeless
Provides financial assistance to community members who are hungry and homeless.
Kenneth Jordan Levy Education Endowment Fund
Helps to fund special synagogue family education projects.
Larry Landy Flower Fund
Helps purchase new books and restore old books.
Mitzvah Kitchen Fund
Helps to underwrite our Mitzvah Kitchen, which bakes challot for congregants in need, new members, outstanding volunteers and other members of the congregation.
Prayerbook Fund
Helps purchase prayerbooks and Chumashim (Torah commentaries).
Rabbis' College Vistation Fund
Supports the rabbis' outreach to congregants' children away at college.
Religious School Scholarship and Enrichment Fund
Donors help support synagogue youth activities and provide supplemental funds for various day trips and overnight activities.
Rosalind & David Bloom Israel Confirmation Scholarship Fund
Provides financial aid to Rodef Sholom religious school students who have reached confirmation to go on a synagogue-sponsored trip to Israel.
Sanford Goodman Youth Fund
Helps support day trips and other activities for children at Rodef Sholom.
Sharon Ruth Cohen Campership Fund
Allows children in the congregation who need financial assistance to attend Jewish camps and helps send confirmands to Israel.
William Rubin Scholar-in-Residence Endowment Fund
This fund subsidizes the costs of the scholar's honorarium and defrays expenses during the annual Scholar-in-Residence program.
