In prayer I speak to God, but in study God speaks to me. Louis Finkelstein, z"l
Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary Adult learning at Rodef Sholom Our intent is that the clergy and teachers you want access to are easy to find, the learning is fluid and continuous, and the subject matter is presented on a variety of levels. Because we are a spiritual community, we have also put many of our learning opportunities during Shabbat. We look forward to joining you at these venues for sustained learning and building our kehilla kedosha, our holy and blessed community. Our communal path of lifelong learning begins right now. B'shalom, The clergy and staff of Rodef Sholom I attend classes (most recently a Talmud class led by Rabbi Stacy Friedman) for a number of reasons. They provide me with new knowledge and insights. They give me an opportunity to deepen relationships with other congregants, including some I might not have even met in other situations, and with the clergy. And, they are another avenue for keeping my brain engaged. --Steven Saxe Shabbat learning Rabbi Brad Artson, our Spring 2012 Scholar-in-Residence My Story/Our Story: Telling the story of Israel through personal narratives |
