Welcome to the March Voice Pesach is right around the corner! This year, the first night of Passover is Monday, March 29, and not everyone in our congregation has a seder to attend. Even in our kehillah kedosha, our holy community, it takes a certain courage to open your home and welcome a stranger (the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim) just as it takes courage to step up and ask to be a guest. In this Voice we have included a personal story from a congregant in each position, that of host and guest, and we hope they inspire you to participate. Irene Resnikoff has also written an article with her own personal story of hosting a stranger and the secret she discovered. Israel is again part of our focus this month, with a report of a visit from Israeli LGBT youth by Rabbi Lezak, an invitation from Nate and Rachel Zilberg to attend a presentation from the founders of an Israeli-Arab bilingual school, and a new class to be taught by Rabbi Lezak. Finally, we have included a wonderful story about giving from Roz and David Bloom, Rabbi Michael Barenbaum will teach at our 8 pm Shabbat services on March 19, and Dan Nichols returns this weekend. If you would prefer to read a hard copy of the March Voice, click here to download and print it. Remember, because of privacy considerations, personal member information such as b'nai mitzvah announcements, lifecycles and donations are only listed in the Voice e-mail, not online at the blog.Again, if you have any questions about navigating the Voice or the website, please contact either Deanna or Meredith at 479.3441 and we will do our best to help you. The summer has come to a close. 5771 is nearly upon us. Join us for a night of introspective questioning and a collective look towards the new year. Together we will change the mantels on the Torah to white, we'll sing and we'll reflect back and look ahead to a good year.
Sunday, October 24: Save the date and look for more information coming soon.
Through the efforts of our Kulanu/ Inclusion of Those with Disabilities Committee, Rodef Sholom has been acknowleded as an accessible congregation by the National Organization on Disability.
