Let justice well up like water, righteousness like an unfailing stream.

For the fourth year, Rodef Sholom will be participating in the Rotating Winter Shelter, or as it is known, REST (Rotating Emergency Shelter Team).  Run as a collaboration between the St. Vincent de Paul Society (a member of MOC) and the Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy, this year the program will operate on Wednesday nights from November 16, 2011 to April 11, 2012.  The Chaplaincy directs the program to shelter a select group of homeless men and women.

REST is a behavior-driven, relationship-oriented program, inviting people from congregations and communities in Marin to be in compassionate relationship with people who are homeless. The project refers to these individuals as guests rather than homeless people as a part of the REST philosophy to move beyond labels and into relationships.

At Rodef Sholom , we are proud to participate in the Winter Shelter program in Marin County for the fourth year. Every Wednesday between November 15 and April 15, we will be hosting 40 unsheltered men in our Social Hall for the night. We need congregants to volunteer to bring food for our guests and to host and greet them.
