Many people who were unable to attend Rabbi Barenbaum’s recent class have been asking for his list of special books. These are the books that Rabbi Barenbaum identified as having influenced him more than any others, either because they are exceptional source books or because they capture American Jewish life like no others.
- The Assistant by Bernard Malamud
- The Healer of Shattered Hearts by Rabbi David Wolpe
- God Was Not in the Fire by Daniel Gordis
- God & The Big Bang by Daniel Matt
- Back to the Sources by Barry Holtz
- Goodbye, Columbus: And Five Short Stories by Philip Roth
