Open up for me the gates of righteousness so that I may enter
and offer up my thanks to You.

Friday evening Shabbat services

5:45 pm wine and nosh
6:15 pm services (except during for the Outdoor Sanctuary - see below)

Shabbat childcare for children ages 3 - 7 from 6 pm until the end of services, which last approximately an hour*

If you are attending our Shabbat services with your children, please take note:

At Rodef Sholom, our intention is to create a worship experience that offers meaning to a wide range of ages and experience. We understand that sitting through a service can be hard for our youngest congregants, so we offer drop-in childcare for children ages 3 through 7.  However, we expect that children ages 8 and up will remain in the sanctuary with their families.

The synagogue’s courtyard is available if a child needs to take a break during services.  We ask that parents remain aware of their child’s whereabouts and supervise them at all times.  Swig Field and the entire BHDS building are off-limits during Shabbat services and dinner (except for childcare).

Shulchan Shabbat (Shabbat Table) -- First Friday Congregational Shabbat Dinner

On the first Friday of most months, the 6:15 pm service is followed by a congregation-wide dinner. Although this dinner is free of charge, you do need to rsvp to Pete at 479-3441 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by close of business on the Wednesday preceding the dinner.

Shulchan Shabbat--our no-barriers, congregational dinner--is funded in part by Fred Levin and Nancy Livingston. We are grateful for their support of this sacred community program. To learn about underwriting or sponsoring a pre-service oneg or a First Friday Shulchan Shabbat, please contact Jane Friedman at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 479.3441.

If you are staying for dinner with your children, we will have some special supervised activities for them in the Osher Marin JCC atrium once they are through eating!

Third Friday 8 pm Shabbat Service
Every month the 8 pm service features a more traditional Rodef Sholom service with an occasional guest teacher and a festive oneg sponsored by the Women of Rodef Sholom.

Fifth Friday Healing Service - A search for wholeness
Whenever we have a fifth Shabbat in a month, the 6:15 pm service focuses on those need of r'fua shlema, complete healing. At this service, we will draw strength from each other with personal stories and personal prayers in a soothing service. Caregivers are especially welcome.

*Shabbat sacks are also available for children
You may have noticed our Shabbat Sacks for children attending services. Each sack includes crayons, worksheets, color pages, and a pencil, and children are welcome to take their worksheets. At the end of services, the sacks should be returned to the side of the sanctuary to be refilled for the next week.
