COVID PROTOCOLS:

Given the ongoing public health concerns, as a community, we have put much thought, care, and deliberation into how to best serve Rodef Sholom members and guests so that we can gather in-person to celebrate the High Holy Days and keep everyone safe. Therefore, if you are attending in-person High Holy Days services, please note the following protocols:

Masking: Masks are highly recommended, but optional for all indoor services. We recommend wearing an N95 mask. While at the bimah, service leaders may choose to remove their masks.

Vaccination: Although we are not requiring proof of vaccination, we strongly recommend vaccination and boosters for all who are eligible.

Testing: We highly recommend a negative Covid test result (rapid antigen performed at-home or PCR) within 24 hours before each visit to services for all adults and children ages 5+. Please use an at-home Covid test as close to your arrival at Rodef Sholom and not more than 24 hours prior. If you are feeling unwell in any way, please choose to join us virtually. We are doing our best to keep everyone healthy!

Festive Rosh Hashanah Community Meals: Come enjoy delicious food, which will be served buffet-style. We will set up tables both indoors and outdoors, providing you with seating options based on the weather, other personal reasons, comfort, and concerns for Covid transmission risk.

Social Distancing: Our temporary sanctuary at Veterans' Memorial Auditorium capacity is 1800. Social distancing is not required inside the auditorium, however, there will be space to spread out.

Please note that these guidelines are subject to change. We will notify you of any changes.

TIKKUN OLAM / REPAIR:
During this moment of self-reflection, we see both the brokenness of our world, as well as our role in helping to repair our planet. Join us in strengthening our community and our world through acts of mitzvot. Our High Holy Day Food Drive benefits Jewish Family and Children's Services and the SF-Marin Food Bank.

Yom Kippur Discussion with Rabbi Doug Kahn and Rabbi Stacy

Wednesday, Oct 5th 3:00p to 4:00pWhat is happening to the wall between church and state in our country? And should we care? Recently the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, ruled that public school officials can pray at school, and required state funding of tuition for private religious schools if other private schools receive funding. Church/state separation has not received a lot of attention in the Jewish community in recent years. It’s time to discuss.
