Let’s celebrate Passover by gaining a deeper understanding of the Prophet Elijah. Take a deeper dive into the lesser known adventures and tales of Elijah with author and scholar, Daniel Matt. This program is co-hosted by Rodef Sholom and the Osher Marin JCC.

In the Bible, Elijah is a zealous prophet, attacking false gods and performing miracles. Ultimately, he is carried off to heaven in a fiery chariot. How did this fierce zealot turn into the compassionate Jewish superhero – the most popular figure in all of Jewish folklore and herald of the Messiah, who is anticipated at every Seder? In this talk, Daniel Matt will explore these questions by teaching passages from the Bible, Rabbinic literature, and Kabbalah.
