Conversation with Jennifer Lang, Author of Landed: A yogi’s memoir in pieces & poses

Friday, October 18, 2024 16 Tishrei 5785

10:00 AM - 11:30 AMRodef Sholom Courtyard and Sukkah

Join writer Megan Vered, Rabbi Elana, and Jennifer Lang, author of Landed: A yogi’s memoir in pieces & poses, who will discuss her recently-released book about marriage and modern motherhood in Israel during these unprecedented, challenging times. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.

In her new book, Jennifer Lang searches for answers to hard questions about marriage, midlife, and living in the Middle East, offering a nuanced peek into what it's like to live in the center of the conflict. The country—the beautiful, the bedlam, and all that feels in between—becomes a character on the page. One reader writes: "Landed is a mother’s love letter to her family and to Israel."

Jennifer Lang is a San Francisco Bay Area transplant in Tel Aviv. Last September, she gave birth to her first book, Places We Left Behind: a memoir-in-miniature; in October 2024, she welcomes Landed: A yogi’s memoir in pieces & poses into the world. A graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts, Jennifer was an Assistant Editor at Brevity. Her prize-winning essays appear in Baltimore Review, Under the Sun, Midway Journal, and elsewhere. A longtime yoga instructor, she teaches YogaProse. Findable at www.israelwriterstudio.com and @JenLangWrites on Facebook and Instagram.
