Steve Schwartz, Executive Director Interfaith Sustainable Food Collaborative, is a local food systems advocate with more than 25 years of professional leadership working with farmers and farm policy to advance sustainable agriculture. The founder of California FarmLink, which he directed for 13 years, Steve worked to provide access to land and financing for beginning and immigrant farmers. Steve founded the Interfaith Sustainable Food Collaborative in late 2011, after serving as chief of staff to two state Assembly members and working on four Farm Bills.
Carly Sugar, Adamah Fellowship Director, most recently served as Founding Director of Giving Gardens at Yad Ezra– an educational garden and greenhouse at a kosher food pantry in Detroit’s suburbs. Through her life and work in the city of Detroit, on Anishinaabe land, she has explored the intersection of food skills, Jewish ritual, and social change work, driven by the wisdom of Detroit’s food system workers and activists.
Tim Page, Co-Founder of F.E.E.D. SONOMA
Born in Southern California in 1968, Tim witnessed first-hand the demise of the local farming scene in Orange County during the 1970’s. Having spent the first 12 years of his working life as a stockbroker, Tim knows the importance of evolving the functionality of for-profit business. Blending the indigenous and ecologically-rooted philosophies learned during intense study with Hawaiian elders with the concept of generational succession experienced since the birth of his two children, F.E.E.D. Sonoma was created in June 2011. Tim’s work and mantra at F.E.E.D. Sonoma is quite literally: Building the Foundation, together & for the children.
