Calling all grandparents! Over the course of this workshop, there will be ample time to explore our own personal stories and styles of grandparenting.

About Our Speakers
Dr. Ruth Nemzoff is a resident scholar at The Brandeis University’s Women’s studies Research Center. She is the author of Don’t Roll Your Eyes: Making In-Laws into Family (Palgrave/ Mcmillan Sept. 2012) and Don't Bite Your Tongue: How to Foster Rewarding Relationships with Your Adult Children (Palgrave/Mcmillan 2008), and is currently at work on her third book about grandparenting. Her academic training in American Studies at Barnard College, in counseling at Columbia University and in Social Policy at Harvard University is the foundation of this picture of the changing American family. Her experience as a Member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, a grassroots organizer, a counselor , and a professor has allowed her the opportunity to put ideas into practice and enabled her to put this portrait into a practical guide. She and husband have four adult children. More information can be found on her website www.RuthNemzoff.com.

Dr. Melanie Grossman has been in an interfaith marriage for over 50 years. She has written a memoir, Crossing Bayou Teche, that chronicles, among other things, her journey from small town Catholic girl to being the proud grandmother of 4 Bar mitzvah Boys!  Melanie is a retired social worker and presently an activist for human rights, especially as this relates to ageism and older women.
