Wednesday, May 25, 2022 24 Iyar 5782

6:30 PM - 8:00 PMLibrary, please register below.

Hosted by Janna Barkin, Rabbi Lara Regev, and REAL MHI Program Coordinator JoAnne Forman, LMFT

Whether you are just at the beginning or have been navigating your child's gender expansive journey for years, we invite you to attend this program to connect and share with other parents.  REAL would like to build a community of parents who can support each other, teach and learn from each other, and hold space for each other's experiences.  This will be an intimate group setting where your questions, fears, feelings, and triumphs are welcomed.

Many parents don’t know where to turn when their child does not conform to gender norms, or comes out to them as transgender. Janna Barkin is an author, educator, and mother. Her youngest child is transgender. She currently supports transgender youth and their families as facilitator of parent support group, workshop presenter, speaker, and parent coach. Her book, He’s Always Been My Son (Janet Kingsley Publishers, 2017) was a #1 bestseller on Amazon and continues to be a valuable resource.

JoAnne Forman, LMFT is an adolescent therapist and the REAL Mental Health Initiative Program Coordinator.  Her oldest child identifies as gender expansive and teaches her something new every day.
