A native of Hungary, Edith Eger was a teenager in 1944 when she and her family were sent to Auschwitz by cattle car during the Second World War. Despite overwhelming odds, being forced to dance for Mengele, and living through other horrors, Edith survived the Holocaust and moved with her husband to the United States. Having worked in a factory whilst raising her young family, she went on to graduate with a PhD from the University of Texas and became an eminent psychologist. Today, she maintains a busy clinical practice and lectures around the world.
Dr. Eger is the author of two books. Her memoir, The Choice, Embrace the Possible, was published at the age of 90 and became an internationally acclaimed New York Times Bestseller. Her second book, The Gift, Twelve Lessons to Save your Life, was released in September 2020 and immediately became a bestseller in the UK and Ireland.
