Yom Kippur Discussion with Rabbi Doug Kahn and Rabbi Stacy
Wednesday, October 5, 2022 • 10 Tishrei 5783
3:00 PM - 4:00 PMMarin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium + VirtualWhat is happening to the wall between church and state in our country?
And should we care? Recently the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, ruled that public school officials can pray at school, and required state funding of tuition for private religious schools if other private schools receive funding. Church/state separation has not received a lot of attention in the Jewish community in recent years. It’s time to discuss. Do these trends have broader implications for the Jewish community and how do we personally feel about these shifts?
This conversation will take place on the afternoon of Yom Kippur at the Marin Veterans' Memorial Auditorium, and will also be available by phone and Zoom.
