There are a number of ways to give to support Congregation Rodef Sholom’s new home. Please see below for a few examples.

Cash
Cash (including check, credit card, and wire transfer) remains the simplest and most popular type of charitable gift. Generally, if you itemize, your cash gift is deductible for income tax purposes up to 50% of your adjusted gross income.

Appreciated Securities
Appreciated securities are commonly used to make a gift. You can obtain substantial tax advantages by directly giving appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. In addition to an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities, you avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation.

Retirement Plans
If your qualified retirement plan assets (such as those held in an IRA, 401(k), 403(b), or Keogh make up a significant portion of your net worth, you may want to consider using them to support Congregation Rodef Sholom.

Real Estate
Congregation Rodef Sholom may accept gifts of real estate, in the form of a personal residence, rental, and commercial. We carefully examine each proposed real estate gift. The owner of the property may be entitled to an income tax deduction based on its value at the time of the donation, as established by an independent appraisal.
