Frequently Asked Questions

High Holy Days:
Q:
Will there be childcare available during services?
A: Childcare will not be provided. Children are welcome at all of our services.

Accessibility:
Q: Are there ramps and handrails from the parking lot and in the courtyard?
A: Yes, the entire building is ADA compliant. Click here to learn about all our accessibility features.

Q: I heard the sanctuary is up a flight of stairs. What do I do if I can't climb stairs?
A: There is a large capacity elevator next to the staircase. The staircase is wide with shallow stair steps, and has several landings along the way for people to rest and also to sit and contemplate the ascent to the Sanctuary.

Q: Are there bathrooms on both floors?
A: Yes.

Security:
Q: Is there going to be a security guard in front of the new building?
A: Since 2021, we have had a full campus Security Team (seen presently at the Osher Marin JCC entrance). They will be visible at the entrance for major synagogue gatherings.

Q: What is the procedure for getting into the building?
A: During Shabbat services, the doors to the synagogue will be monitored by lay greeters as well as the security team to let congregants and guests enter the building. There will be layers of human and electronic security leading up to the synagogue. During routine business hours, the synagogue doors are locked, but there will be a staff member greeting and buzzing people in. Please press the small square call button on the podium outside the main entrance.

Q: Can we access the courtyard?
A: Yes. The courtyard was in part created to connect our community and our partner organizations -- the JCC and Brandeis also have full access to the courtyard.

Connections:
Q: I'm new to the community and would like to be more connected. What's the best way to do so?
A: We are here to help you find your individual path into the community in a way that feels most meaningful for you. Email Debi Geller, our Community Relations Coordinator to find out more. We also invite you to join us at any programs or services that call to you. Our Shabbat services each week are a beautiful way of creating tradition while getting to know our clergy and congregants.

Programs:
Q:
How do I learn more about adult programs?
A: Click here for our adult classes and here for our engagement programs and gatherings, and give us a call with any questions!

Q: How about programs for kids or families?
