Youth Engagement Director
Jacob “Hershey” Hershman was raised at Peninsula Temple Sholom in Burlingame and spent many summers at Camp Newman. For the last three summers, he has worked alongside mental health professionals as a member of Newman’s Nefesh camper care team.

Assistant Rabbi
Rabbi Leo Fuchs, our new Assistant Rabbi, is a full member of our clergy team. His role focuses specifically on amplifying connection with families during the b-mitzvah years and beyond. He is also a dedicated presence with our 7th-12th graders and their families.

Toby Pechner, our inaugural Director of Family Worship and Songleading, will prepare all of our B' mitzvah students to lead the congregation in prayer, will lead our young family engagement and Jr. Jews community, and bring joyful music to all aspects of synagogue life.
